Regional Background
Mara region lies on the lake Zone (Lake Victoria) whereby on the western side is Kagera region, Mwanza lies on the southern side and Arusha on its eastern side. To the north it borders Kenya. Having a very big part of the Serengeti National park, Mara is one of the most attractive regions for tourism in the country!
Other places of interest to visit include the home of the late Mwalimu J. K. Nyerere, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania, some wonderful caves along the lake Victoria, some attractive beaches around the lake and the lake itself with the most wonderful species of fish.
