TOMATO PROCESSING TRAINING - IRAMBA DISTRICT

The training was conducted at Iramba District and involved 18 participants where by 17 were female and 1 male. The training was funded by EU KUWAKI Program and implemented by SIDO Singida.

The main objective of training was to provide knowledge and skills related to tomato and vegetable processing to representatives of 12 vegetables grower groups at Iramba District. The training expected to reduce if not finish the problem of post harvest lost and increase income of groups.

The products processed during the training are -

1.Tomato sauce.

2.Tomato Paste.

3.Tomato wine.

4.Green leaf and onions drying.

5.TBS and TFDA Regulations.

 Training was officially closed by Rerpresentative of DED Iramba Mr Alfonce Mwiru who insisted participant to use important knowledge and skills reeived to produce quality products which can compete in the market hence increase income for their family. He also advises the participants to cascade the knowledge obtained to other member of groups for the purpose of increase outreach of the technology and bring big impact to the Iramba community.
