The training was conducted to 19 participants and all were female at Mkalama District (Nduguti). And participants were the representative of 19 groups of 4 wards. The products trained was

• Tomato Paste.

• Tomato Source.

• Tomato wine.

• Onion processing.

• Green leaf drying.

• Regulations on food processing.

 

The main objective of training was to provide knowledge and skills related to  vegetables processing. The training helps to reduce if not finish the problem of post harvest losses and increase income of farmer groups. It also helps to add value of raw tomato, green leaf, and onions to finished processed products that packed well and sale at higher prices. The training was part of intervation and improvement of vegitables value chain promoted by Mkalama local government authority and EU KUWAKI project.
