After sourcing numerous technologies from different sources, technology have to develop either through our Technology Development Centre (TDCs) located in seven regions of Tanzania or developed directly by SMEs with the assistance of SIDO technical staff. The approach is through collaboration with R &D institutions by intering into contract or /and use of reverse engineering.
SIDO aims at strengthening the capacity of TDCs and supporting SMEs to acquire, develop technologies and use them to produce goods and services for marketing. It will also promote renewable energies, which are easily developed locally like solar, hydro, biomass and wind for household and rural industries. This will involve both existing and new technologies in order to expose and create more opportunities for SMEs in rural and urban areas to adopt.
