SIDO Singida in collaboration with HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation organised a one day refresh training to members of 4 groups of KUWAKI project on processing tomato sauce and tomato paste. The participants of the training were 5 female and 1 male from four groups which are Mandewa (Singida Urban), Family care (Iguguno Mkalama), Juhudi and Mjndami of Ikungi. The training aimed at reminding the participants on theprocedures of tomato sauce and tomato paste processing. The objectives of the training was to improve knowledge and skill on tomato production with the use of required and standard food products as recommended by TBS and TFDA.
The participatory approache used was; Practicle, Lectures and Questions with answers which was helpful because they were able to ask their facilitators and gain from them a clear and understood responce from them.
Subjects covered on the training were;
1. Technologies of food processing.
2. Tomato sause.
3. Tomato paste.
The participaants from the groups who represented their fellow members on the conducted training got the desired skills and knowledge who are then able in cascading the skills to other members on their groups and benefit them and be able to reduce porverty.
