To Design Plant layout of the food processing facility consider the following:
- List down the whole process the product need to pass
- Draw the flow Diagram of the product steps.
- Identify how many rooms or partitions needed to cover all the steps
- Add the lobbying area by considering number of workers who will use the lobby
- Make sure the lobbying area is located in the direction where the wind is going,avoiding bad smell
- Make sure the location of rooms or partitions allows the product to move in forward direction to avoid possibilty of cross contamination.
- Sketch the layout to showing movement of the product from receiving to Dispatch.
- Indicate movement of the product and movement of the people.
- Verify the layout according to the process steps of the product.
- Print and Use the LAYOUT DESIGN CREATED.
