SIDO Dodoma incollaboration with Africare Dodoma- Center Zone organised a two days training to groups involved in production of salt at Kitelela Village in Dodoma Municipal. Due to time limited and shortage of officers they requested a Business Development Officer from Singida Municipal. The participants were 29 female and 4 male who are participants from three group Tupendane, Upendo 'B' and Lulu. The aim and objectives of the training was to build capacity to members and improve quality of salt, packaging and labeling and also produce quality products with hygiene environment and sale at good price.
The methods used was practicle, lecture and questions with answers. The approaches were imparted to them and enable particioants to have a proffesional manner business for their business to grow and make profits.
The training subjects covered were
1.Salt producing process.
2.Salt production by using solar energy (solar evaporation).
3.Salt production by using heat/fire (thermal process).
4.Filtration of salt water from soil without mixed with sand and good method to boil salt water.
5.Factors affecting level of salt production.
6.Importance of Iodine and how to mix with salt.
7.Packaging of salt.
8.Labeling of salt.
The trainer from SIDO Singida Mr Joel Tangai insisted to the participants of the training that they should use the given knowledge and skills by starting to produce a good quality salt in a hygien manner, packing them and lableling them.
