Bagamoyo Districtis one among other Districts in the country with a number of opportunities to invest. Pineapple employs larger number of people from agricultural activities and processing at a small rate. There are few retailers of processed opportunities products.therefore much could be exploited.
Mrs. Teddy Alban Davis is an entrepreneur of Bagamoyo District owns an industry of agri-processing. She processes, Rosella wine, Rosella Juice, Pineapple Juice and Pineapple Jam.
the enterprise is among the beneficiarries employed in the opportunities sector.She lives in l Bagamoyo town and set a space where she built a small enterprise/industry. Teddy started business after approaching to SIDO Pwani for Food processing training in year 2012. After training she started processing pineapple jam and Rossela juice. In year 2013 she started attending SIDO Zonal exhibitions, Nanenane and DTIF. She explains that throung trade fairs she gained experience and saw others products with Tbs mark. She came to SIDO the same year to request a letterto be certified. SIDO went to visit and industry and adviced to make some modifications before going to Tbs. She was visited by TBS in 2013 and by now already have a certificate for two products which is Rossella wine and Rosella juice. She holds a small farm of pineapple and rosella therfore she gets raw materials at home.
In 2014 she geared SMEs exhibition in Bagamoyo. She came to SIDO and explained the idea. She went to the District Executive Directors to initiate the event and was supported. The first Bagamoyo SMEs exhibition launched in August 2014 was accompained by opening of Smoke House Store(Teddy's Enterprise).During opening ceremony the Secretary of East Africa Cooperation Hon. Joyce Mapunjo opened the industry.
