Mr Said Juma Homoud is a sunflower processor at Singida Munispal, he started processing sunflower oil since 1998 at SIDO Singida industrial estate with capital of 7 million. At that time sunflower oil processors were few, competition was low and products produced were not well packed and production environment was not conducive. Through SIDO he received technical and business services which help him to improve his business by packing product in a recommended packaging produce his own label and improving production environment.

Mr Said got was exposed to different business opportunities by SIDO including  attending different training organized by SIDO which enabled him to increase business skill, attending exhibition organized by SIDO. In 2006 Mr Saidgot loanfrom EADB project endeavors now his project received a total of Tshs 28.5 Million. Also he was introduced and participated in BDG program in 2009 whereby he won Tshs 4.8 Million as grants to improves business.

In September 2013, Mr Said expanded his project by opening another industry at Misuna area with total investment of 25 million where he installed new machine in a building which comply with TBS and TFDA requirement. His industries has been upgraded by installed conveyer system for transferring seeds to the processing machine and caring sunflower cake from processing to other room. This was the result of advises provided by SIDO. He manage to register his business name with BRELA ( Sweet drop sunflower oil mill), get bar code and TIN number and now already introduced to TBS to got TBS certification.

His production has increased from processing 8 to 12 tones of sunflower seeds per day which is equivalent to 3,145 liters of sunflower oil. His market outreach has increased to out side Region such as Dodoma, Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Tabora and Kilimanjaro.

His business is progressing well and he manage to employ 8 permanent workers and more than 20 part time for both two industries. He is planning to have double refinery machine where can enable to refine his oil and sale to out side country market which is mare profitable.

His family is enjoying from the fruits of the project as now his family is at good house and children are at good school.
