Hiji workshop is one of best workshop in Lindi municipal owned by Mr Hiji Twahili Raus. The wokshop deal with manufacture of quality furniture and provide of sawmilling services. Hiji twahili Raus started his own workshop in 2011. He started at low stage with two machines and one bench but before that he was worked as a part time employee at one of the workshop in town where he managed to save what he got from his employer and start with that small amount to buy two machines, one bench and to rent a premise. After started the operation he was applied and got loans from SIDO amount Tsh 1 mil in 2011 and use that loan to purchase different machines that helped him to expand the industry and improve its products. Apart from loans he attended several entrepreneurship and business management training organized by SIDO that help him to manage his business. Also SIDO helped him to register his business with Brela.He manage to expand his business year after year by re investing the gained profit. Currently He manage to get tender from different local government authorities and private companies within a region.Hiji workshop currently own more than 10 machine (big and small), employ 12 carpenters, 6 trainees and 1 cashier, so that help to reduce the level of unemployment within a region.He also prepare to open new sawmilling workshop branch at Mnazi mmoja, land and machines were already purchased.
