SUCCESSIFUL SHOE MAKER (Kika Shoe Making, Peramiho)

Kika shoe making is owned by Edwin Kininda who was born in 1961 in the mbinga District. He moved to Peramiho to learn shoemaking at the trade school, then worked as an instructor there for 9 years before setting up business for himself.

He attended training in SIDO Ruvuma, travelling a considerable distance each day ( SIDO covered his travel costs) and learned about record keeping, work performance, customer care and how to organise his workshop. He received patching machine from SIDO he just paid Tsh 15,000

The main part of his work is making special shoes for people with disabilities from the nearby special Hospitals.

He now increased production and income. He is married with 4 childrens and his shoemaking work has enabled him to educate his children of which one is a teacher in Shinyanga and the other are currently at college. Have registered his business and able to tender for supplying to the Hospitals as well as individuals.
