Project of promoting Intra- Regional Trade in East Africa -ITC Supported Project: 2014 to 2016

English
The project aims at strengthening the capacity of SMEs and Trade Support Institutions to increase value addition in agro food products and related services, to expand trade within the region and export to international markets.

It covers three beneficiary countries Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia  and focuses on agro-food value chains including honey and non-flower horticulture (including chilies) in Kenya, honey, mango and spices in Tanzania and honey in Zambia. The project aims to address gaps that prevent SMEs from effectively participating in product and services value addition.

In Tanzania the project works with various partners including SIDO, Association of Mango Growers (AMAGRO), Tanzania Honey Council (THC), Tanzania Forests Services (TFS) and TanTrade where SIDO is a focal point.
